Edward Rees - Headmaster
Edward Rees joined Hornsby House as Headmaster in September 2012.  He was educated at Charterhouse and Hatfield College, Durham, where he graduated with a BA(Hons) in Education, specialising in Geography.  Between 1996 and 2012, he fulfilled a wide range of roles at Dulwich College, including leading the Junior School as Acting Head during an ISI Inspection.  He is himself a qualified and experienced inspector of Independent Schools and was a governor of a local co-educational preparatory school prior to joining Hornsby House.  He is married with two young children and is a keen sportsman in his spare time and a member of the MCC.

Jennifer Paul – Senior Deputy Head                                                    Jennifer trained at Jordanhill College of Education in Glasgow and headed to London shortly afterwards.  She began her teaching career at Thomas’s Kindergarten, Pimlico then gaining experience in all year groups from Y3 to 8, eventually heading the maths department at Thomas’s Battersea.  This led the way to a Deputy Head/Head of Maths role at Rowan Preparatory School in Surrey including a term as Acting Head. Although her teaching subject is Maths, Jennifer enjoys championing the work of the music department.  A keen musician herself (scholarship to the Junior department of RSAMD, London Philharmonic Choir and Semi-Chorus for a number of years, KSO double bass player and a number of other musical ventures en route) she enjoys singing, playing with or conducting choirs and is a keen member of the HHS staff choir.  She also enjoys reading to the younger children and teaching the older children how to cook and bake.

Alistair Gerry – Deputy Head, Pastoral
After completing a Bachelor of Science in Manchester, Alistair spent eighteen months travelling in South America, where he learned to speak both Spanish and Portuguese.  He is qualified to teach all ages having first gained a PGCE in Further Education at the University of Greenwich, before a six-year stint living in Australia, where he was awarded a Diploma in Primary Education at La Trobe University, Melbourne. For the last fourteen years he has taught throughout Primary Schools from Nursery to Year 6 and joined the Hornsby House team in 2002.  His passions include cycling, music and travelling.

Mark Peters – Deputy Head, Outreach & Partnership
Mark was educated at Dulwich College before graduating from Exeter University with a BA (Hons) degree in Geography. He joined Hornsby House in 2004 as Head of Boys’ Games and has since enjoyed a variety of roles including Head of Geography, Head of Scott House and Director of Sport. Mark is now enjoying the challenges of his new role as Deputy Head.

Mandy Hayes – Director of Studies
Mandy joined Hornsby House in September 2009. She came to us from a teaching post at Altrincham Preparatory School in Cheshire. She is a highly experienced teacher who has taught in local state and independent schools, including Putney High School, before her five years in the north-west. Mandy is also Head of English.

Sheila Bailey – Head of Early Years
Sheila qualified from Cardiff as a secondary science teacher more years ago than she cares to remember.  She taught Biology and Lower School Science before taking the opportunity to retrain as an Early Years teacher.  She worked in several primary schools teaching Nursery, Reception and Years One and Two.  During this time she acquired an M.A, a daughter and became a registered Ofsted Early Years Inspector.  Twelve Reception Classes at Hornsby House later, Sheila she is still enjoying and appreciating teaching in such an innovative and caring school.
