The school was founded in 1988 by Professor Bevé Hornsby, a renowned speech and language therapist whose other interests included flying planes and ballroom dancing.
We now have 430 children enjoying an excellent Hornsby House education, on a fantastic site between Balham and Wandsworth Common.
To support every child’s personal development, we have designed our own wellbeing programme and all teaching staff are trained in mental health first aid.
Our broad and creative curriculum was recognised in our most recent inspection report with children’s achievement judged as ‘excellent’. We also have an Artsmark Gold award to our name.
Community is at the heart of a Hornsby House education. We have our own Outreach programme and have recently formed links with two local primary schools and Kang Daek School in Cambodia.
The children benefit from excellent sports provision with the use of two local facilities; Trinity Fields and Battersea Ironsides Rugby Club where we have recently built a 4G all-weather pitch.
